As the face of Fernie Lodging Company, our frontline staff are essential to the success of our business. The Sales & Guest Services position is a combined position from April to November, and there may be opportunities available through our busy winter season. Guest Services staff are often the first and last person our guests communicate with. Sales and reservations staff are responsible for marketing, selling and booking our extensive vacation rental properties to potential guests in our on-mountain call centre. Advancement within the company is available for the right candidate and a view to longer term employment will be highly regarded.
Key Duties:
- Representing Fernie Lodging Company in our call centre and to guests;
- Providing online vacation quotes and answering messages;
- Capturing accurate and complete information in the booking system, ensuring all details are confirmed;
- Becoming a destination expert through a combination of research and training;
- Achieving sales targets and personal goals;
- Providing high levels of customer service and accurate resort information to guests and owners;
- Communicating effectively with guests, owners and co-workers;
- Assisting the Reservations Manager, and other Fernie Lodging Company managers and staff;
- Welcoming & checking-in our guests and owners into their reserved accommodation; and
- Assisting our guests and owners with their needs and requirements.
Job Requirements
- Candidates must be comfortable with and proficient in the use of Microsoft Windows and the Office suite of applications;
- Experience with the RDP Property Management System will be highly regarded;
- Knowledge of a second language would be a benefit;
- Available to work flexible shifts, including days, evenings and weekends with minimal supervision;
- Able to work in a fast paced environment, under pressure and able to multitask;
- Basic knowledge of Fernie and surrounding area is an asset;
- Previous guest services and/or reservation experience would be an asset;
- Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills; and
- Organized and detail oriented with thorough follow up skills.
