Dogs are Welcome in our Pet Friendly Suites

Fernie Lodging Company knows how important your pets are to your family. That’s why we have specially-designated Pet Friendly suites at several of our properties.

Please let us know you intend to bring your dog when you call our Central Reservations team. We will ensure you are booked into a Pet Friendly suite.

Then, be sure to get your dog's treat when you check in!

We simply ask that you include your dog when enjoying your stay so it doesn't disturb other guests and to remember that pets are not permitted in suites not selected as Pet Friendly. To ensure a positive experience for you, your dog, and our other guests, please keep your dog on a leash at all times.

For health and safety reasons, dogs are not permitted in common areas such as the hot tubs, fitness areas, food service areas, lounges or meeting rooms. Quiet Time for all Guests — including dogs — is from 10:00 pm to 8:00 am.

There is a $40 dog charge that covers stays from 1 to 7 days, maximum. Additional charges may apply for extra cleaning as a result of accidents, damages to property (replacement or repair costs) or noise complaints (including reimbursement required as a result of inconveniencing other guests.) If dogs are left unattended in suites, Fernie Lodging Company will not be able to provide scheduled housekeeping services. And again, if noise complaints result, owners may be fined. All dog owners are required to sign a Dog Safety Damage Waiver and Credit Card Preauthorization at check in. Dogs found in non-designated Dog Friendly suites will result in fines up to a $500 charged to the Owner and possible eviction with no refund.

Fernie: a Pet-Friendly Destination

Fernie is an amazing place for everyone in your family — including your dog. More than 24 trails and parks in the immediate area will keep your pet’s tail wagging. Fernie Alpine Resort also offers more than 14 kilometres of trails for a sniff-and-explore nature walk.

The town of Fernie has trails in every direction — stroll along the river, head into the forest, or explore downtown's historic streets. Don't forget a leash, doggie bags, and an energy-boosting treat. Fernie also has an off-leash park for your canine friends to enjoy.

A leash is required in the town of Fernie and within Fernie Lodging Company's public facilities.

Other Animal Care and Boarding Options

Jesse’s Boarding Kennels provide a close-by option for pet boarding during your visit to Fernie, whether for 24-hour or day care.

You dog will stay in an indoor kennel with an attached 10 x 8 outdoor kennel and play yard. Pets are walked several times daily. Bring your pet's own food and bed, or the kennel will provide both. Parasite treatment is also recommended.

Jesse’s Boarding Kennels are open daily from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Extended winter hours come into effect from mid-December through April.

Rates are available by contacting the kennel. Discounts for long term stays. After hours drop-off and pick-up can be arranged in advance for a $5.00 fee. Space is limited, early bookings are advised.
