Reservations & Guest Service Manager (Maternity Leave Coverage – 12 months from May 2022 – June 2023)

The Reservations and Guest Service Manager role is critical to ensuring a smooth guest experience from the time they book their stay, all the way through to when they check-out. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the accommodation industry – with the ability to manage all aspects of the reservations department, foster relationships with our wholesale and travel agent network, and ensure the highest level of customer service to our in-house guests and property owners. This is a year-round 12-month position and preference will be given to permanent residents. Opportunity to extend will be offered to right candidate.

Key Duties:

  • Managing the daily operation of the Reservations department including answering phone/email inquiries, providing lodging options/quotes, inputting reservations, taking payment and providing confirmations
  • Managing the daily operation of the Guest Service department including check-ins, check-outs, inquiries, guest issues, recommendations, etc. – all while providing exceptional levels of customer service
  • Facilitating and confirming reservations from our network of wholesalers, travel agents, and online channel partners, as well as building relationships with these key stakeholders
  • Inputting accurate and complete information into our booking system, ensuring all details are verified and confirmed
  • Develop pricing strategy and setting nightly rental rates whilst managing yield.
  • Entering owner reservations, calendars, and fractional owner reservations in our booking system correctly.
  • Hiring, training, and scheduling of staff
  • Working towards sales targets and KPI’s as set by the company
  • Responding to concerns/compliments from guests/owners in a professional and timely manner
  • Assisting the senior management team in other aspects of the business and working in all departments when needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience working in reservations/guest services for the accommodation/travel industry
  • Outstanding customer service experience and a demonstrated positive, results-driven attitude
  • Skilled and sensitive listener who understands guest needs and can tailor accommodation options
  • Candidates must be proficient with the Microsoft Office and Reservations Software
  • Available to work flexible shifts including days, evenings, and weekends
  • Strong destination knowledge of Fernie, Fernie Alpine Resort and surrounding area
  • Team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills

Maintenance Assistant

Key Duites:

  • Providing exceptional customer service to our guests and owners
  • Performing daily checks of the pool at Timberline Lodges and balance chemical levels
  • Assist all departments with day-to-day work orders and repairs
  • Following emergency and safety procedures
  • Other duties and projects as assigned when required

  • Ability to work unsupervised with excellent time-management skills
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure
